Business Administration Student in Future We Want Model United Nations Conference (FWWMUN) 2018

Last Friday-Sunday (March 9-11, 2018) had become days full of experiences and challenges for Putri Anggita. Imagine, a student of Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Communication and Business, Telkom University, successfully followed the simulation of General Assembly of United Nations (UN) held in New York, United States.
According to Putri, being an Indonesian delegate at the 2018 United Nations Conference Future We Want Model (FWWMUN) event is not as easy as imagined. “We have to know how to speak well, what are the problems in our country, then find a solution that is acceptable to all countries because not all countries agree with our solution,” said Putri.
Moreover, she said, her educational background is different from representatives from other countries whose came from the department of International Relations. Nevertheless, this does not discourage Princess to learn. This class 2015 student added that the conflicts and problems that exist in Indonesia are brought to the conference. “So that they can be discussed and found the solution in accordance with the agreement of member countries that follow the UN,” she said.

Although it is only a simulation, but Putri feels the benefits are the same as those felt during the actual UN session. Therefore, Putri assess this golden opportunity can also be achieved by other students, from any campus. In addition, Putri feels this event also opens opportunities for her to expand her network because she can get acquainted with the delegates who come from various countries in the world. “The event is really good because we can know how to stand up for our country, how to work with other countries and in doing all of that, one needs sufficient experience,” she said.
