The Strata 1 Business Administration study program received an implementation permit from the Higher Education on March 28, 2008. Initially this study program was in the School of Business Administration & Finance (SABK) – Institut Manajemen Telkom (IM Telkom), with accreditation “B”, which is managed by the Telkom Education Foundation (YPT). The history of the establishment of the Bachelor of Business Administration study program at Telkom University is inseparable from the history of the establishment of the Telkom Institute of Management (IM Telkom). At the beginning of the establishment on May 23, 1990 with Notarial Deed Ahmad Wiratni, SH. Number: 163/1990, Master of Business Administration (MBA) Bandung as the pioneer organizer of the first Master (MBA) program in West Java. In an effort to maintain the quality of education organized, MBA Bandung collaborates with the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Manila, Philippines. On May 10, 1993 MBA Bandung changed into Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Bandung (STMB) and obtained “Superior” accreditation from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture number: 70a/d/0/93 in 1993. In 1997, STMB opened the S1 Telecommunication & Information Business Management study program with “A” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2002. In December 2005, STMB changed its name to Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Bisnis Telkom (STMB Telkom). As a concrete step towards World Class University (WCU), STMB Telkom has transformed into Telkom Institute of Management (IM Telkom) on March 28, 2008, with the addition of one Diploma-3 Marketing Management study program and five Strata-1 study programs, namely: Accounting, Communication Science, Visual Communication Design, and Business Administration. Telkom University is the latest development of the transformation process of four higher education institutions under the auspices of the Telkom Education Foundation (YPT), namely Telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom), Telkom Institute of Management (IM Telkom), Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Seni Indonesia-Telkom (STISI Telkom), and Telkom Polytechnic. Telkom University has 7 (seven) faculties and 34 (thirty-four) study programs, ranging from Diploma-3 to Strata-2. Starting April 1, 2014 the S1 Business Administration Study Program is under the Faculty of Communication & Business – Telkom University. Transformation is carried out by Telkom University in an effort to become a Research and Entrepreneurship University in 2023, which actively involves the development of technology, science and art based on information technology.
